In elementary, each month we focus on a concept or virtue that relates to our relationship with God and others! The activities and object lessons each week will help kids in practical way to carry out the monthly concept or virtue in their daily lives.  Our goal is to encourage kids to have the kind of relationship with God that results in showing His character to those around them!

Here's what to expect during your visit to VHC Elementary! 

If it is your first time, please don't hesitate to ask for a tour. 

We know it is not always easy walking into a new place! 

VHC KIDS CHECK-IN

As you and your child arrive at our Kids Check-In, you will be greeted by a member of our VHC Kids team! You will be asked to fill out a family registration card, and once you register, you will receive a name tag for your child and a corresponding security tag for yourself.  Please alert our Check-In volunteers of any information that will help in caring for your child, such as allergies or special needs.

WHERE TO GO AFTER CHECK-IN

You and your child will be guided to the Elementary where a VHC Kids volunteer will meet you at the door to welcome your child!   Please inform volunteers of any specific instructions you may have for your child.  We ask that you bring as few items as necessary to the Elementary classroom. If your child does need anything with them, please label all personal items you plan to leave with our volunteers with your child’s first and last name before arriving.

DROP OFF & ENJOY SERVICE

After you have completed the Check-In process & taken your child to his or her room, wave a quick good-bye & head into the adult worship service! As you know, it is common for little ones to cry when a parent leaves, and if this happens our volunteers will immediately engage your child in a toy or activity and ensure your child that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will text to the number you provided or have an usher come get you!

PICK-UP

When the time comes to pick up your child, please return to the Elementary classroom and present your security tag to the VHC Kids volunteer at the door. The tag will be matched to your child’s name tag before he/she will be released into your care. Please know that we are asking everyone except volunteers to stay outside of the classroom door due to cleaning and safety precautions we are taking at this time due to COVID 19.  Thank you for helping us with this!
